The latest trend – the no makeup makeup look is perfect for us busy girls. Easy to do, natural and fast to get to looking a little more awake on those early starts. We’ve gathered some tips and tricks to help you with achieving the no makeup makeup look. Natural, but different.
Kind of strange that you’re here, reading about how to apply makeup so it looks like…you’re not wearing any? This is the bare minimum, looking natural, that off-duty model type look.
1. Skin first.
It’s all about the glowy, natural skin. Let your own skin shine through rather than covering it in super high-coverage foundation. The no makeup makeup look is all about looking natural. While not everyone has amazing youthful glow, you should work hard on your skin prep to create the perfect base. Let’s get exfoliated, moisturised and fresh looking.

2. Primer.
When you’re going for that no makeup makeup look, be sure to get the most out of your base. Prepare your skin and add a primer beneath your makeup. Choosing a pore filling primer helps cover up pores without clogging them like a heavy foundation could. Illuminating primers will work on that natural looking glow without you having to add highlighters and extra layers of makeup.
3. Add coverage, but keep it light.
Keep away from the thick full coverage foundations for this look. Using tinted moisturisers, BB and CC creams will give your skin hydration and a little light coverage without hiding your natural beauty. Allowing freckles, a little redness and your imperfections show through is important to work on that no makeup makeup look.
Apply any layers with a beauty blender or a makeup sponge for an even and natural coverage.
4. Use a concealer for extra coverage and blemishes.
If you’re still not happy going for the completely natural look, cover up a little with some concealer over your dark circles and blemishes. Be sure to use a hydrating and lightweight concealer that looks natural. Here’s our suggestions.

5. Use creams.
The best way to achieve that no makeup makeup look is to use creams. Cream bronzer, cream blush and even cream highlighters. Blending with a damp sponge such as a beauty blender or a makeup sponge will help things stay natural.
6. Get that glow.
Adding dewiness is a must. This is a natural finish and that means a little shine. Rather than shimmery highlighters with glitter, opting for a cream luminosity stick or applying a tiny amount of an illuminator will work a treat to create that glow from within.
7. Fake a flush.
Natural skin wouldn’t look so natural if you weren’t to add some colour to your cheeks. Even if you’re not a natural blusher, adding a little cream blush to the apples of your cheeks will do wonders for a pretty no makeup makeup look.
8. Fluff your brows.
The great part about a no makeup makeup look is unruly, bushy brows are not only accepted, they are ENCOURAGED! Bring on no plucking, waxing and extreme brow taming. Enhance their natural beauty by using brow gels with fibres to brush them up into place.

9. Apply some light mascara or skip.
The skin and glow is the star of the no makeup makeup look so it’s ok to go light on the lashes. Wearing a brown or natural looking mascara is perfect if you’d prefer to have something on them. Otherwise just go for the natural look and skip mascara all together.
10. Subtle rosy lips.
Add a little tint to your lips for a freshly just-kissed kinda vibe. A tint would be perfect here, just something subtle that stains the lips a little.
